Hello Friend!

My name is Autumn. I am a NYC + Rochester NY-based photographer specializing in headshots, creative fine art portraits, vibrant, love-filled celebrations and far beyond. I see the world in photographs and poetic movement, and I am here to collaborate with those who are seeking something wonderful, and often out of the ordinary-- a dear friend and I call it 'radical self exploration'.

I am also an actress, print model, and motivational dancer for groovy dance parties, and high-end Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. Yes, I'm the hype(wo)man, and that said, I know what you are going through on the other side of that lens. I have deeply felt, internalized, and explored the shyness, the nerves, the insecurities, the fidgeting, the bearing of the soul, the joy, and the liberating empowerment of being on camera. : )

Photographing others is my greatest joy. I am deeply honored and humbled every time someone gives me the opportunity to witness them, as they are, in our time together. I am grateful to get a chance to see them and help them feel seen, and to discover their best and most interesting light (both inside and out.) It is my job to see YOU. And I think that is so freaking cool. I often feel kind of like a traveling time machine, freezing beautiful people in moments, and those moments can live on for generations, offering insights about others that we have no other access to. I am always mesmerized when I find an old photo of someone I know and love. Especially someone from a different generation. You get to see them in a different phase of their life, in a different season of their life, in a way you have never known them - when they were a long haired hippie groovin’ at a festival, or a young, glowing new Mom, or a sailor coming home from sea, or your Grandparents that you’ve never met, in their garden, basking in light and love and way too many tomatoes. : ) Seeing these photos brings a remarkable fullness and context to the story you’ve heard and crafted in your head about those people. Photographs feel like magic, don’t they? They transport you. And a photo taken now will offer insights about you to future generations, and future You, too. : )

If you’d like to know more about my journey, I was raised by loving hippies/artists/musicians/farmers in a rather nomadic gypsy fashion and spent a great deal of my childhood being placed in abandoned barns, redwood forests, and sunflower patches, (almost always in a funky hat) around the great lands of America for the sake of the still image. It's in my bones. Starting off with an obsessive collection of disposable cameras during those awkward teenage years, I moved on to my father's old camera (when it functioned properly and I could get to town to buy film - we lived on a 60 acre post-hippie commune 20+ minutes from any sort of store). I followed that era with Polaroids, my first Canon Rebel (film), and onto the inevitable generations of brilliant Canon’s to follow.

I spent 12 years acting on camera, and modeling for various indie + large scale brand campaigns, and 5 years modeling for the fashion photography departments of SVA and ICP in New York City as a fun side gig, and in retrospect, an excellent education. I witnessed, in working there with hundreds of photographers, techniques that work (and many that don’t) in helping to make the subject (You- a unique, emotional, vulnerable and expansive human being) shine your light and tell your story. I am here fully for the adventure, the joy, the depth of what it means to be human with you - that’s what lights me up.
